Our Season 12 Formula E grid is complete! Here is the entire 2025/26 World Championship driver line-up, as we get ready for a record-breaking run of 17 races around the world featuring the final year of the GEN3 Evo machines.

New kids on the block

As well as plenty of names and faces you’ll recognise, there are also several new additions to our full-time grid this season. The most recent to be announced is Spanish superstar Pepe Martí, who joins FIA Formula E following an impressive two-year stint in FIA Formula 2.

The Spanish 20-year-old, who hails from Barcelona, joins the team as one of the brightest talents in single-seater motorsport. Collecting three wins and four podiums in his second Formula 3 season, Martí then graduated to F2 where he has since added four wins and eight podiums to his name.

Another new full-time signing to the all-electric championship is Felipe Drugovich, who will race at Andretti. The Brazilian has tipped his toe into Formula E before, taking part in several rookie tests as well as racing for Mahindra Racing across Berlin last season, but is now on the grid in a permanent capacity having signed a multi-year deal.

Drugovich-Andretti-1

A former FIA Formula 2 Champion, Drugovich is another excellent addition to the team and brings international motorsport experience in single-seater and sports car competition despite being only 25-years-old.

Joel Eriksson is also being promoted from Jaguar TCS Racing’s test and reserve driver to a full-time seat with Envision Racing. The Swede has started 10 Formula E races before now, including eight with Dragon Penske Autosport in 2021 and twice with Envision over the Berlin weekend in 2024.

World Champions are back for more

Several of the series’ former champions are returning, albeit under new team colours, this season. Two-time Formula E Champion Jean-Eric Vergne has made the move to Citroën, as the iconic French manufacturer makes their single-seater debut, with Season 6 drivers’ title holder Antonio Felix da Costa embarking on a new challenge at Jaguar TCS Racing.

Reigning world champ Oliver Rowland stayed loyal to Nissan, with Pascal Wehrlein returning for another season with the TAG Heuer Porsche crew. Sebastien Buemi and Lucas di Grassi are still going strong at their teams, having remained with Envision Racing and Lola Yamaha ABT, respectively.

Nyck de Vries is ready for another blockbuster year with Mahindra, and Jake Dennis has signed up for more action with the American Andretti gang.

There’s no denying the calibre of talent in this series is outstanding!

The reigning Teams’ and Manufacturers’ World Champions have a new line up for Season 12, as Porsche works driver Nico Mueller joins the team. The Swiss driver has been in Formula E for several seasons now and has 62 race starts to his name.

He’ll be joining Season 10 champ Pascal Wehrlein, who has recorded eight wins and 18 podiums during his time in Formula E. It will mark Wehrlein’s sixth consecutive year with the German giants, as he chases down his second drivers’ title in the championship.

Jaguar TCS Racing

The British team have had quite a lot of change coming into Season 12. As well as a new team principal in Ian James, the iconic brand welcomes Antonio Felix da Costa to their team as the 2019/2020 champion begins a new chapter of his racing career. As well as racing with Jaguar, the Portuguese driver will also be representing Alpine in the World Endurance Championship.

Remaining at Jaguar is Mitch Evans, who has been with the organisation since they made their Formula E debut in Season 3. His long haul with the team has seen him become tied at the top of the all-time winners list with 14 victories across his nine seasons so far, but is still chasing down that championship crown – is this his year?

Da-Costa-Jaguar

Nissan

Home to current World Champion, Oliver Rowland, Nissan has an unchanged line-up for Season 12. They have understandably kept the British talent, who dominated proceedings across the 2024/25 campaign, with seven podiums, four wins and two Julius Baer Pole Positions.

On the other side of the garage, the team has decided to retain Norman Nato to keep some stability at the team.

Mahindra Racing

The Mahindra team had an incredible upwards trajectory last season, finishing fourth in the teams’ standings with 186 points and five podiums after a tough few seasons. Both drivers have long-term contacts so it’s no surprise to see an unchanged line-up, including Season 8 World Champion Nyck de Vries.

Alongside the Dutchman is Edoardo Mortara, who has 111 race starts and six career wins to his name. The pairings are one of the most experienced on the grid, and Mahindra will be hoping this converts to their first victory since Season 7.

DS PENSKE

There is change with the black and gold DS PENSKE team, with Taylor Barnard joining the fold. The young Brit impressed in his first full-time rookie season and now makes the jump up the team based in Versailles, France. After scoring five podiums and two pole positions, breaking several Formula E records in the process, all-eyes will be on him to score his maiden win.

Remaining at the team is Maximilian Guenther, who managed two victories across the 2024/25 season for DS PENSKE. Guenther had an unlucky run of reliability issues across Season 11, but it will be fascinating seeing him go up against Barnard.

Andretti

There’s no change for Jake Dennis, as he stays at Andretti having made his debut with the team back in 2021. Last time out, Dennis managed two podiums across a challenging season and marked his first campaign without a victory to his name. However, he’ll be hoping for a shift in momentum as he gets ready to tackle the final year of the GEN3 Evo.

Joining Jake is new signing Brazilian Felipe Drugovich, who makes a long-awaited return to single-seaters. The 2018 Euroformula Open champion and 2022 Formula 2 champion is also a reserve driver for the Aston Martin Formula 1 team, and has a hugely impressive racing resume.

Envision Racing

The Silverstone-based squad have changed their line-up, bringing in Joel Eriksson. Born in Sweden, the 27-year-old was previously Jaguar’s test and reserve driver and has participated in Formula E races before. He replaced Nico Mueller at Dragon midway through Season 7, and was also called upon when Envision needed a super sub across the Berlin E-Prix weekend in Season 10.

He’ll share a garage with Sebastien Buemi, who signed a multi-year agreement over the summer break. After winning in Monaco earlier this year, and tallying up more podiums, Buemi has proved that he’s still got the fire in his belly, and is tied for most wins in Formula E history (14). He’s driven for Envision Racing since Season 9, and will continue to do so into the exciting GEN4 era.

Citroën Racing

One of the biggest changes to the grid this year is the addition of Citroën – their first foray into single-seater racing. As part of this exciting new adventure, the French manufacturers have enlisted the help of fellow Frenchman Jean-Eric Vergne. The only multiple champion in Formula E’s history, Vergne is one of the best on the grid and this pairing felt inevitable.

He’ll partner Nick Cassidy, who kickstarts a new opportunity at Citroën. It’s a significant move for the Kiwi, having worked closely with Jaguar powertrains the past couple of seasons but now moves to STELLANTIS. However, Cassidy comes off the back of an insane run of momentum with three wins in the final three races of Season 11.

CUPRA KIRO

Having switched to Porsche power in the GEN3 Evo era, CUPRO KIRO went from strength to strength last season. Dan Ticktum is staying with the team, posting on social media that “he’s not [bleeping] leaving” – if you know you know. He managed to achieve his first Formula E podium, pole position and victory last season, so he’ll be ready to improve on that in Season 12.

Josep Maria "Pepe" Martí is the latest addition to the grid, joining from his time in Formula 2. As part of A14 Management, a driver development group co-founded by two-time Formula 1 World Champion Fernando Alonso, Pepe’s career also included a very respectable stint as a Red Bull junior for the last two years.

Lola Yamaha ABT

The pairing at Lola Yamaha ABT has remained the same for Season 12, with a great blend of youth and experience. Lucas di Grassi is one of the most successful drivers in Formula E’s history, winning the drivers’ title in Season 3 and has an astonishing 147 race starts to his name – only missing one race since the series debuted in 2014.

He is once again joined by Zane Maloney, with the boy from Barbados back for his second full-time season. Last season Maloney recorded a best result of 11th, but with more understanding of the car and returning to several of the same tracks, it will be interesting to see how he gets on across 2025/26.
