Shanghai International Circuit
The Shanghai International Circuit was conceived by renowned designer Hermann Tilke, who has been responsible for some of the most famous race tracks in motorsport. From above, the unique layout resembles the Chinese character “上” (shang), meaning ‘up above’.
The Circuit opened in 2004 for the Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix and has since played host to all-electric racing some 20 years later. Designed for top-tier motorsport global events, the circuit features a challenging combination of high-speed straights and tight corners. This track offers plenty of opportunities for overtaking – making it the perfect place to showcase Formula E’s unique brand of racing.
