Season 12 newcomers Citroën Racing look ahead to their first season in Formula E

With their new drivers Jean-Éric Vergne and Nick Cassidy, Citroën Racing have been hard at work in preparation for their Formula E debut in Season 12.

Citroën Racing is a motorsport powerhouse which has won titles in every form of racing it has entered to-date. The French manufacturer says its entry into Formula E provides a "new challenge" in "an electric, innovative and passionate adventure that embodies our values and our vision for the mobility of tomorrow."

The storied outfit can count victories at Dakar, nine FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) Drivers' titles, eight WRC Manufacturers' titles, three FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) Drivers' titles, three WTCC Teams' World Championship victories and even more title-winning success in the FIA Cross-Country Rally World Cup to its name.

Entering Formula E for Season 12, they've backed up their significant motorsport credentials with a stellar driver line-up. This features Formula E's only two-time champion Jean-Éric Vergne who makes the move from DS PENSKE after an eight-season affiliation with the DS brand. Alongside Vergne, Nick Cassidy joins the fold, with the New Zealander also among the most successful drivers in the paddock with 10 wins and 20 podiums to his name.

In the Valencia pre-season test, Citroën immediately got up-to-speed, with Vergne and Cassidy ending the first day of testing in ninth and tenth, respectively. Throughout the second and third days of the test, the French manufacturer continued to find pace and gained valuable track time at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo, ultimately finishing the test with a best time of 1m22.380s.

With all the right tools at their disposal, only time will tell how Citroën Racing fare in Season 12 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.
