Formula E’s annual pre-season testing gets underway this week, as the championship returns to the Circuit Ricardo Tormo, Valencia. As well as the six sessions for our full-time drivers on the grid, there is an additional day specifically for a Women’s Test.
PREVIEW: Everything you need to know about Formula E's pre-season test in Valencia
What is the Formula E Women’s Test?
First introduced last season, this groundbreaking idea allows the best and brightest talents to get behind the wheel of a current Formula E car to learn and develop their skills. All teams are invited to run two women across the session, which is happening on Friday 31 October, with the field introducing new faces as well as welcoming back familiar faces.
The initiative is all part of the championship’s long-term commitment to accelerating diversity and equality in motorsport alongside the FIA, ranging from grassroots and up to the highest levels.
When is the Formula E Women’s Test?
The test will be made up of two three-hour sessions on Friday 31 October. Timings are as follows:
- Official Women’s Test - 09:00 local (08:00 UTC)
- Official Women’s Test - 14:00 local (13:00 UTC)
The test is twice as long as last year, giving the drivers six hours of non-stop testing across the Spanish circuit. The test will start at 09:00 local time (08:00 UTC) on 31 October, and like the rest of pre-season testing will be covered across the championship’s social media channels and the website’s live blog.

Janina Schall
First up is Janina Schall, a 19-year-old German superstar who started karting back in 2013. She has multiple runner-up finishes across a number of campaigns and last year experienced the FIA Motorsport Games in the Kart Endurance category, finishing inside the top 10.
As well as karting Schall also made her touring car debut in 2023 driving a Porsche Cayman V5 in the Rennsport Club Nürburgring. She continued in the same class last year, racing for the Girls Only team, and secured second place at NLS 3 and won at NLS 6.
Gabriela Jilkova
Porsche have also brought back Gabriela Jilkova, a familiar face in the garage. Having become the first woman to drive the GEN3 Formula E car, Jilkova returns for a third outing with the Stuttgart-based team. She participated in the Valencia test two seasons ago, as well as last year’s inaugural Women’s Test in Madrid.

Chadwick joined Andretti Autosport as a test driver in Indy NXT in 2022, and made history as the first woman in 14 years to win an Indy NXT race and finishing seventh overall in the championship.

She made her competitive debut in 2019 across the Lucas Oil Winter Race Series, before making the switch to the F4 Danish Championship the following year, where she won her first race and finished sixth overall.
“Driving the GEN3 Evo car will be a new experience for me, and I’m excited to learn from the team and push myself in this environment,” Noda said. “It’s an honour to contribute to an initiative that supports women in motorsport and helps open doors for talented drivers.”
