The FIA Formula E Championship was a big winner at last night’s Broadcast Digital Awards - triumphing in both categories in which it was entered.
Success in the Best Digital Programme and Best Content Partnership categories capped a great evening for the world’s first all-electric racing series.
In the Best Digital Programme category, Formula E prevailed over heavyweights such as Coronation Street Live and David Attenborough’s Great Barrier Reef, while in the Best Content Partnership section the relationship between Formula E and partners Aurora and Little Dot Studios overcame Stargazing Live and The Indestructibles among others.
Dan Jones, Digital Creative Director at Little Dot Studios, said: “To win a category like that as a new sport, against hugely established brands like the BBC, ITV and Natural History Museum - is testament to the wider digital strategy of Formula E and all its excellent work.”
Ali Russell, Director of Media at Formula E, said: “To win both awards was both unexpected and immensely enjoyable. Formula E has made a commitment to fully embracing digital media and to be recognised at these awards is a tremendous achievement, which will inspire us to push even harder in this direction for season three and beyond.”
