Putrajaya ePrix draws impressive TV audience in the US

With electric racing already building an appetite for fans in the US with two races in Miami and Long Beach in its inaugural season, Formula E’s popularity is continuing to grow in North America according to the latest viewing figures.

The Putrajaya ePrix in Malaysia aired on FOX Sports scored a 1.2 on the Nielsen ratings. The live broadcast drew 60,000 viewers in the US despite the early morning time slot.

Alejandro Agag, CEO of Formula E, said: “It’s huge news to receive these sort of TV figures in the US. North America is a key market for Formula E with burgeoning sales of electric vehicles and growing support from fans. We hope to see Formula E continue to expand in America and we look forward to returning for the Long Beach ePrix in April next year.”

Formula E returns to the US for the Long Beach ePrix on April 2 2016.
