Formula E has long been home to several Brazilian legends over the years. From our first Champion Nelson Piquet Jr. to Bruno Senna or Felipe Massa, we’ve been home to some of the best motorsport talent there is. That hasn’t changed for Season 10, as Season 3 champ Lucas di Grassi (ABT CUPRA) and Sergio Sette Camara (ERT) both complete our driver line-up in 2024. In fact, Brazil is the only nation to count two Formula E champions in its ranks.
Speaking ahead of their home race, the two Brazilians chatted about the pressures of racing at home and how they think the race could play out.

“I raced here in pretty much all the categories that I raced in my life from F1 to the World Endurance Championship, stock cars and now Formula E,” Lucas di Grassi stated. “I grew up here in São Paulo.
“We know we have a car which is not at the level it needs to be consistently fighting for podiums and victories, but there are many races this year that the slipstream and the way the race unfolds could be good - Portland which is probably the highest extreme of this slipstream effect was my best race last year. I managed to finish seventh, fighting with everyone so I hope I can repeat that strategy here."
"For me a home race does bring pressure because you feel like since this is your home race, you should perform better," adds ERT's Sergio Sette Camara. "But on paper, there's no reason why you should. I'm obviously trying my best in every race no matter where we are. I think it's about balancing the pressure that comes with it, but also the good things like having my family or all my friends around. It can actually turn out to be a worse race if you don't manage it well.
"You do have a lot more time limitations with media, sponsorship, you also need to give the attention of your friends. So if you don't organise yourself, it can actually be worse. But I like racing here. And, of course, I want to get a special result."
