Season 3: From the back to the front
Starting the race down in 15th position, di Grassi found an opportune moment to reach the front of pack. With some chance Safety Cars and some ingenious gambles the Brazilian found himself in the lead.
Pitting five laps early to change to his second car, he inherited positions with the Safety Car eliminating any time loss from swapping cars and allowed him to conserve energy. A strategic masterstroke and still the lowest winning grid position in Formula E history.
Season 5: Victory in the final 100m
Pascal Wehrlein looked set to claim a debut victory but di Grassi had other thoughts. The wily Brazilian hounded the German right at the end of the race.
Wehrlein was struggling on energy and di Grassi was putting all the pressure on the race leader, making the then-rookie over consume as he tried to hold him off in the closing stages.
Heading into the final lap, we saw one of the most dramatic finishes in Formula E history, as Wehrlein held strong he just didn't have enough energy to get across the line and di Grassi slipped by just at the flag.
Season 9: A masterclass in defence
Di Grassi dug deep into his bag of tricks to claim a hard-fought third in Season 9. After securing a surprise pole in the opening race of the GEN3 era, the Brazilian led for just over half of the running before Jake Dennis (Andretti) snuck up the inside.
He couldn't hold of the energy-rich Porsche power under Dennis and TAG Heuer Porsche's Pascal Wehrlein, but in the closing stages of the 2023 race he pulled out all the stops to hold on to a podium position.
Making his car as wide as possible, the then-Mahindra driver held off the advances of Jake Hughes (NEOM McLaren) and Andre Lotterer. Defending and managing his energy perfectly, di Grassi was able to pull a buffer right at the end to score another incredible podium in Mexico City.
Bonus - Season 2: A victory taken away
Another exciting performance that resulted in a dramatic end - just not one di Grassi would have hoped for. The ABT Schaeffler driver pounced into the lead after a thrilling tussle with Jerome D'Ambrosio and Sebastien Buemi.
Unfortunately, di Grassi was disqualified after the flag due to his car being 1.8kg underweight.
For Season 10, the experienced Brazilian returns to the team where he had his most success, lining up with ABT CUPRA as the team gets set for their 100th Formula E start - will di Grassi pull another dramatic performance out of the bag this weekend?
