Hughes heads to the Hankook London E-Prix double-header off the back of a disappointing trip to Rome, but all-in it's been a promising campaign for the Brit.
Two Julius Baer Pole Positions came early in the season in Diriyah and then Monaco, along with three fifth-placed finishes.
PREVIEW: Everything you need to know ahead of the Hankook London E-Prix
Rome saw the 29-year-old shunt at Turn 6 in qualifying ahead of Race 1 in the Italian capital, ruling him out of that race with severe damage to the front-left corner of his car that could not be repaired in time for Round 13.
The team put in the hours overnight to turn things around and have the car ready for Round 14, though, and Hughes almost rewarded them with points - though he'd have to settle for an eventual 11th spot. That makes it a streak of four races without a point that he'll be looking to put right in London.
He's amongst the strongest qualifiers in Season 9. No winner has come from lower than third on the grid at the ExCeL and there's yet to be a driver to reach the podium from further back than ninth - so Hughes will need to double down on his strong quali performances if he's to reach the podium here in front of a partisan home support.

“I’m really oking forward to London, which is the home race for NEOM McLaren and myself,” said Hughes. “To race in London will be very special, in front of a home crowd, family and friends. From a performance standpoint, we had a very challenging weekend in Rome and didn’t come home with any points.
“Our goal for London will be putting two strong days together, scoring points and hopefully challenging for a podium.”
Ian James: 'Season 9 will make us stronger'
Team Principal Ian James is a title winning team boss, and having taken the reins of McLaren this season, he's sure the outfit will take the challenges and turn them into learnings ahead of the next campaign.
"We are already gearing up for the last two races of this season, which take place this coming weekend in London. The year so far has been an adventure for NEOM McLaren. At the start of the season, we opened a new chapter for the team; we had the privilege of becoming part of the McLaren Racing family and its rich heritage.
"Since then, we’ve achieved some highlights, such as McLaren Racing’s first TAG Heuer Pole Position and podium finish in Formula E in Diriyah. Equally, we’ve faced some challenges and a run of poor results which fell below our expectations. However, we have learned a huge amount, which will make us stronger for the future.
"I’m now looking forward to returning to London for one of the most exciting races on the Formula E calendar – a unique track in motorsport with both an inside and an outside section. The atmosphere which the British fans bring and the quality of the racing at this venue have already made it an absolute highlight.
"Thanks to the fans for your support so far. We hope to make you proud one more time, concluding Season 9 in style. Bring on the London E-Prix!”
