Mitch Evans pens new multi-year contract with Jaguar Racing

Jaguar Racing has today confirmed that Mitch Evans will continue with the team on a multi-year contract that will see the New Zealander line-up for the British marque for next season and for the Gen3 era of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in Season 9.

Another driver has fallen into place as Mitch Evans will continue on his five-year relationship with Jaguar Racing after they announced a new deal with the New Zealander ahead of the double header season-finale in Berlin on August 14th and 15th.

Fresh off a home podium for the British marque in London last time out, Evans has represented the 'Big Cat' since the 2016/17 season and scored his debut victory for the squad in the 2019 Rome E-Prix. Since then he has gone on to take a second win in Mexico City last season and has stood on the podium 10 times.

The 27-year-old currently sits eighth in the Drivers' standings heading into the season-finale, speaking on his new deal he said: "I’m not going anywhere! Having spent over five years with the team, I know exactly what we plan to achieve in the forthcoming seasons and I am excited to continue to be a part of the team’s journey.

"I have been approached by other teams but my home continues to be with Jaguar. We are seeing strong results on track, the Jaguar I-TYPE 5 boasts excellent performance and we are ready to rival anyone on the grid. There is still everything to play for this season and going forward into the future with Jaguar Racing."

Evans alongside teammate Sam Bird have helped propel Jaguar right into the fight for the Teams' championship, the British outfit currently sitting in third and only nine points from Envision Virgin Racing at the top.

"We are very pleased to confirm that Mitch will remain a key part of Jaguar Racing’s driver line-up, extending his long-standing and integral role in the team," opened Jaguar Racing Team Principal James Barclay.

"Mitch’s speed and on-track results in Formula E speak for themselves and we have continued to build a formidable partnership year on year since he joined our team in 2016.

"Mitch is one of the most exciting talents in Formula E and his experience and understanding of how we work is invaluable. We are stronger together and as a team we are all excited and highly motivated to achieve the most out of season seven and beyond."
