Andre Lotterer (TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team) put in a late flier to top the timesheets in Free Practice 2 ahead of the Shell Recharge Berlin E-Prix, pipping Edo Mortara (ROKiT Venturi Racing) by 0.026s, with Sebastien Buemi (Nissan e.dams) third.
Free Practice 1 saw the top 20 split by just over 0.850s and this time around, 21 drivers were separated by under three-quarters of-a-second. Lotterer's time was quicker than Mahindra Racing's Oliver Rowland went in the opening session by 0.3s and the Porsche driver will be looking to capitalise come qualifying as the team fights back from Monaco disappointment.
RESULTS: The full FP2 classification
Mortara followed up on fourth in FP1 with the second quickest time here while Lotterer's teammate and fellow German Pascal Wehrlein was right up there too, in fourth spot - just 0.1s shy of the pace. Sandwiched in-between the Porsches was the Nissan of Buemi. The Swiss was quick in Monaco - racing from the back of the pack to eighth - and will be encouraged by his morning's running.
Robin Frijns followed in fifth for Envision Racing with Mitch Evans (Jaguar TCS Racing) sixth.
More than just lap times
Lap times aren't the only focus in practice, though. Drivers and engineers will be working flat out to understand things like energy management profiles and setup ahead of qualifying and the race later in the day - particularly at the opening race weekend of the season.
