Guenther makes the switch to the Japanese manufacturer after a two year stint with BMW i Andretti Motorsport, where he became the youngest race winner in Formula E history at the Santiago E-Prix in Season 6 - the first of three victories in the championship.

Nissan sees the addition of Guenther as a boost to its programme, with the marque looking towards Season 8, Gen3 and beyond.

Nissan's race to carbon neutrality
Nissan races in Formula E to bring the excitement and fun of zero-emission electric vehicles to a global audience. As part of its goal to achieve carbon neutrality across its operations and the life cycle of its products by 2050, Nissan intends to electrify all-new Nissan vehicle offerings by the early 2030s in key markets.
“Our long-term commitment to Formula E gives us a powerful platform from which to demonstrate the exciting performance of our zero-emission EV technology, and how racing in the all-electric series helps us build better cars for our customers through our track-to-road technology transfer and engineering collaboration,” added Gupta.

Mitsunori Takaboshi will continue as the team's test and reserve driver. Former Nissan GT Academy winner Jann Mardenborough will remain as the team's official simulator driver.
Nissan's outgoing Brit Oliver Rowland is expected to take up a seat elsewhere in the Formula E pit-lane, with his future to be confirmed in due course.
