/10Just five minutes into the Mexico E-Prix Vergne and rival driver Nelson Piquet Jr. were involved in a major collision, which saw Piquet's car fly over the top of the Frenchman. With Piquet's wrecked car cleared, Vergne continued on but finished 13th, well clear of any points.
/10When returning to his home race in Paris, the French capital wasn't as kind to Vergne's campaign as it had been in previous years. Despite torrential rain and hail, Vergne still managed to claim points with a sixth place finish, while his teammate Andre Lotterer once again stole the limelight with another second place finish.
/10Jean-Eric Vergne, fresh from winning the 2017/18 Championship title, embarks on his fifth campaign in the ruins of Ad Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. Finishing second, the defending champion's chances of second title got off to a good start.
/10A sweltering race in Santiago brought disappointment for Vergne retiring from the race due to damage, partially caused by his teammate Andre Lotterer. After both DS Techeetah drivers brought home the series' first one-two win the following year, that moment seemed all but a distant memory for the Frenchman.
/10By Rome, JEV's rollercoaster of a season was in full swing after he dropped back down the ranks with a 14th place finish. Stepping up in his place was his teammate Andre Lotterer who battled for the win against Mitch Evans, eventually loosing out to the Jaguar driver.
/10After finishing 15th in the first of two rounds in New York City, the fight went down to the wire for Vergne and title rival di Grassi as both battled for their second consecutive title.
/10Head strong after his podium finish in Saudi Arabia, Vergne goes for the lead in the opening seconds of the Marrakesh E-Prix, squeezing between race leader Sam Bird and the wall. Ending up facing the traffic, a red faced Vergne would later declare it to be his "biggest mistake in Formula E."
/10Another miserable result in Hong Kong saw Vergne finish his third pointless race once again in 13th. After a strong start in Saudi Arabia, the Frenchman's fortunes looked to have fallen off a cliff. Sitting 11th in the standings with just 28 points to his name, Vergne needed nothing short of a miracle.
/10Despite a rollercoaster of a season, which saw Vergne come close to defeat, the charismatic Frenchman rose to clinch a second championship title becoming the first back-to-back champion in the series history. "Coming to Formula E was the best thing that ever happened to me...I will definitely give it all next season, that's for sure - I want more," remarked Vergne after the race.
/10Back on top, Vergne clinched another win in the surroundings of Monaco's glistening harbour front, leading the race from start to finish. Becoming the first driver to win two races in the season, the victory in Monaco was nothing short of a "dream" for the Frenchman.
