Allianz becomes official partner of Formula E

The FIA Formula E Championship, the world’s first fully-electric single-seater racing series, is proud to announce an exciting partnership with Allianz, one of the world’s leading insurance companies.

Allianz and Formula E join forces in an innovative partnership that will continue Allianz’s prominence within motorsport. In addition to joining the all-electric series as an Official Partner, Allianz will focus its activation around the newly named Allianz eVillage, working in conjunction with Formula E to create a fully-immersive fan experience at every event.

From the Mexico City ePrix onwards on April 1, the Allianz eVillage will become the platform to showcase the best new concepts and futuristic technologies to fans within the Explorer Zone, providing an opportunity to discover unique interactive activities and creating revolutionary ways to educate and engage with fans of Formula E.

In the Allianz eVillage, fans can follow all the action live on the giant screens and get up close to their favourite drivers at the autograph session. Fans can also get behind the wheel of simulators and compete against the Formula E drivers in the eRace, as well as witness the raw emotion of the podium ceremony - breaking down the barrier between drivers and fans that exists in traditional motorsport.

The electric street racing series provides an ideal sponsorship platform as Formula E shares many of the core values Allianz prides itself on such as integrity, resilience and competence - giving its customers the confidence to dare and the courage to go forward in life and business. As part of the agreement, the Allianz brand will be displayed on the Formula E show car, on top of the cockpit and rear wing endplates. In addition, Allianz logos will be visible during Roborace, the world's first driverless electric race series that takes place on Formula E city street circuits, with branding displayed on the Robocar designed by automotive futurist Daniel Simon.

Alejandro Agag, Founder and CEO of Formula E, said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming Allianz to the Formula E family and to see their passion in motorsport continue with the world’s first fully-electric single-seater racing series. Allianz and Formula E are two brands that share a commitment to innovate and inspire, key values that form the basis of our partnership. With the support of Allianz we aim to bring our mutual passion for racing and innovation to our ever-growing fan base around the world.”

Commenting on the partnership, Jean-Marc Pailhol, Head of Group Market Management and Distribution at Allianz SE, said: “We believe that now is the time to engage in the development of new ecosystems defining the future of urban mobility in a sustainable way. What better way than to partner with Formula E, which not only brings the discussion to metropolitan cities around the globe but also adds the excitement of fully-electric racing. We are particularly excited to host the Allianz Explorer Zone in the Allianz eVillage, which allows the visitors to get in touch with the latest digital technology such as 3D printing, drones, and virtual reality.”
