Maximilian Günther confirms DS PENSKE exit

The German has announced he'll move on, as DS Automobiles' longstanding spell as a brand in Formula E - most recently alongside the PENSKE operation - drew to a close at the conclusion of the London finale.

Maximilian Günther has announced that he'll be leaving DS PENSKE following the conclusion of the 2025/26 campaign in London this past weekend.

After initially serving as a Reserve Driver, Günther made full-time Formula E debut with Dragon in Season 5. Moving to BMW i Andretti Motorsport for Season 6, he became Formula E's youngest race winner with victories in Santiago and Berlin. Following a brief stint with Nissan e.dams, he joined Maserati MSG Racing for Seasons 9 and 10, claiming multiple podiums and wins in Jakarta and Tokyo.

The German moved to DS PENSKE for GEN3 Evo, and made history by taking the first-ever PIT BOOST victory and leading home a team 1-2 finish in Shanghai after teammate Jean-Eric Vergne's last-lap heroics.

Paddock rumours over the weekend suggest the 29-year-old will likely remain for GEN4, with news of his potential destination to arrive in due course.

DS' decorated Formula E spell comes to a close, for now

DS Automobiles is one of the most decorated manufacturers in Formula E history, famously becoming the first brand to secure back-to-back double titles.

Joining the series in Season 2, the marque secured four titles, 19 victories, and 55 podiums across 151 races.

Taylor Barnard ensured the team signed off in style with a finale victory in London.

The Brit became the youngest-ever race winner in Formula E history at 22 years and 76 days with his penultimate lap move on Nyck de Vries (Mahindra) for the win in Round 17.

Stellantis will be represented in the Manufacturers' stakes by the Opel and Citroen brands from 2026/27 as the GEN4 gets underway.
