Formula E's best special liveries

Over the years, Formula E has seen some incredible one-off liveries, here’s a few of our favourites!

Porsche ‘Pink Pig’ livery

Iconic, beloved and unique - of course, we’re talking about Porsche’s ‘pink pig’ livery.

“When the race-ready Porsche 917/20 first rolled out on the tarmac at the 1971 24 Hours of Le Mans, it initially left the world’s press and race spectators scratching their heads,” Porsche stated about the birth of the pink pig.

“It was covered in the lines and names for meat cuts made by butchers, set on top of a race car coloured with a vibrant flesh-like paint. Was this a bona fide race car or some sort of elaborate joke? It wouldn’t take long for the answer to be revealed, as the so-called ‘Pink Pig’ soon started tearing up the track at the Circuit de la Sarthe.

“More than 50 years later, the Pink Pig continues to capture the imagination of motorsport fans, whether with appearances at heritage motorsport events or via subsequent revivals of its unmistakable design.”

To celebrate 75 years of Porsche Motorsport, the livery made a welcome return at the 2026 Hankook Berlin E-Prix and proved to be a lucky charm for Nico Muller, who achieved his first Formula E victory at the 69th attempt.

Nissan’s blue cherry blossom livery

Over recent years, the Nissan Formula E Team has become known for its cherry blossom livery that conjures up vivid associations with the manufacturer's Japanese home. But for the 2025 London E-Prix, they added an extra twist.

To celebrate the launch of the brand new Nissan LEAF, a third-generation electric vehicle built upon the data and expertise collected since the debut of the first model in 2010, the team showcased a special teal blue edition of their car for the Season 10 finale.

Unfortunately, the livery would bring little success to the Nissan squad with the team’s duo, Oliver Rowland and Norman Nato, only scoring two points over the double-header weekend.

Lola Yamaha ABT’s Superman livery

To kick off their collaboration with Warner Bros Discovery, Lola Yamaha ABT ran with a special livery at the 2025 Berlin E-Prix. The livery tied in with DC Studios’ movie ‘Superman’ and was wrapped in the iconic blue, red and yellow of Krypton’s superhero, with the famous Superman shield adorning the chassis.

To add to the spectacle, both Lola drivers, Lucas di Grassi and Zane Maloney, wore custom made race suits in the design of Superman’s famous suit - which became a real talking point in the paddock.

“To kick off this collaboration with a celebration of a film centred around one of the most recognisable superheroes is a statement of the impactful activations we plan to implement together. This is a fantastic opportunity for not only Lola Cars and the team, but Formula E as a whole, to reach new audiences and build excitement around this growing sport,” said Keith Smout, Chief Commercial Officer, Lola Cars.

Andretti’s Ocean Drive livery

A home race provides teams with the perfect opportunity to make a statement through their livery, and to engage their fanbase. For the 2025 Miami E-Prix, Andretti found the perfect way to combine both elements.

To mark the event, the team hosted a fan vote to decide which special livery Andretti would run for the E-Prix, with fans deciding between ‘Ocean Drive’ and ‘Deep Atlantic’.

The ‘Ocean Drive’ livery introduced a baby blue colourway and subtle palm tree pattern, replacing the colour blocking of their standard red and blue livery. By incorporating the two elements, Andretti bottled the essence of the Sunshine State and unsurprisingly, it was a hit with fans.

NEOM McLaren’s 60th anniversary livery

Back in 2023, Formula E newcomers, NEOM McLaren, were determined to end their first season in the all-electric championship with a statement livery that celebrated 60 years of the McLaren brand. What they ended up producing would make motorsport history as the world’s first AI-generated race car livery.

The livery featured artwork built on visions of the future provided by the team's drivers; René Rast and Jake Hughes, as well as four members from NEOM’s Graduate Development Program.

“We are delighted to work with NEOM on the creation of the first AI-designed livery in motorsport," said McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown. "When the car takes its place on the grid in London this weekend, it will mark a key moment in celebration of McLaren Racing’s 60th anniversary. McLaren has a long history of innovation in motorsport and beyond, so as we celebrate our past, it’s just as important to look to the future and continue to break new ground.”
