Formula 2 race winner, Richard Verschoor, will get his first opportunity in Formula E machinery in the upcoming Madrid Rookie Test, when he gets behind the wheel of the GEN3 Evo. A member of the McLaren Driver Development Programme, Verschoor has wealth of motorsport experience, having achieved victory at the 2019 Macau Grand Prix, as well as multiple race victories in Formula 2 - a championship he spent five years competing in.
Verschoor is joined at the Madrid Rookie Test by Hugh Barter, Lola Yamaha ABT's Simulator Test Driver. For 20-year-old Barter, this will be his fourth opportunity to experience Formula E machinery, having most recently taken part in the Miami Rookie Free Practice session earlier this season, where he finished ninth. In his role with the team, Barter plays a crucial role in helping to optimise car setup and strategy for this season, while also playing a role in the development of Lola’s GEN4 race car.
