WIND ENERGY
URUGUAY

Uruguay is a great location for showcasing sustainable energy production, as it has a diverse portfolio of renewable energy power plants, including hydro, solar and wind, which combine to produce approximately 98% of the energy generated across the whole country.

Formula E has supported the implementation and operation of a 25-turbine wind power plant in the south east of the country. The plant has a total installed capacity of 50M, which directly supplies the national grid and save an estimates 121,843 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.

This project directly supports 4 out of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) (7, 8, 9, 13).
