Formula E announces series of multi-year broadcast partnerships

The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship has today announced a number of extended and new broadcast partnerships that will see the all-electric series aired to audiences in Mexico, Canada, Indonesia and 15 markets across the Asia-Pacific region for years to come.

Fox Sports Mexico

Formula E and Fox Sports Mexico came to an extended multi-year broadcast agreement to air Formula E ahead of the Mexico City E-Prix this Saturday.

Fox Sports will broadcast Round 3 of the 16-race championship live from the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez track, with Free Practice 2, qualifying and the race airing live on both Fox Sports 2 and 3 from 11.30am CST. All upcoming races in the biggest-ever Formula E calendar plus the new qualifying format will air live on Fox Sports linear and digital channels.

Luis Maldonado, Head of Product, FOX Sports Mexico said: "We are really excited on the renewal of this deal, the category is growing very fast and we believe It has a bright future ahead. We are going to focus our efforts on promoting the category among our fans, and we are very excited to have the Mexico City race."

Formula E x Eclat Media Group

Formula E and Eclat Media Group signed a new multi-year exclusive broadcast agreement beginning this season to air the championship in 15 markets across the Asia-Pacific region.

SPOTV and SPOTV2, and streaming platform SPOTV NOW, will broadcast practice, qualifying and every round of Season 8 live in Brunei, Cambodia, Timor-Leste, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam. SPOTV will also air races non-exclusively in Hong Hong, Indonesia and South Korea.

There will be comprehensive highlights too, and SPOTV is developing plans to produce a tailored service across the different markets in the region - presenting Formula E content for TV, digital and social media in local languages.

Mitchell Hong, Chairman of SPOTV and CEO of Eclat Media Group, said: “We are proud to present to our viewers the adrenalin-pumping Formula E. As the world embarks on electric mobility, we are thrilled to be able to support the greener effort and philosophy behind the Formula E branding.”

Bell Media and Formula E extend partnership

In another fresh multi-year agreement, Bell Media will retain the exclusive English-language broadcast rights in Canada.

Formula E live and highlights programming will continue to air across TSN and Discovery Velocity's television and digital platforms - meaning fans won't miss a minute of Season 8 and beyond, as well as the first-ever Vancouver E-Prix on 2 July.

Fans can catch the Mexico City E-Prix this Saturday, with qualifying at 12:30 p.m. ET on TSN.ca and the TSN app, followed by the race at 4:30 p.m. ET on TSN2 and Discovery Velocity.

Shawn Redmond, VP, Bell Media Sports, said: "As excitement for elite motorsport continues to grow among Canadian viewers, we're thrilled to extend this successful agreement and continue to deliver live coverage of Formula E to fans across the country. We can't wait for the competition's first-ever event in Vancouver this year, and with this agreement, viewers can follow Formula E on TSN and Discovery Velocity all season long."
