Unplugged gives viewers an eye in the paddock throughout the 2021/22 campaign, with 16 races across 10 iconic cities including New York, Jakarta, London, Mexico City and Rome, which saw a new Drivers' World Champion crowned on the final race weekend of the season in Seoul. Twenty-two world class drivers from 11 teams compete in the first sport to combine dramatic motor racing action with the development of cutting-edge EV technology.

Episode 1 took in Formula E's return for Season 8 and the last dance of the GEN2 race car. Then-Drivers' World Champion Nyck de Vries returned to the paddock with a confident swagger to defend his title and teammate Stoffel Vandoorne set out to prove he's not a number two driver. Going into their final season in Formula E and with Mercedes-EQ’s reputation as a hugely dominant force in motorsport, both drivers are under pressure to perform.

Who put the full stop on the second era of Formula E? And how did they do it? Watch every episode now.

Ticktum: 'My character often gets misunderstood'

One of the biggest personalities in series two of Formula E Unplugged is NIO 333 Racing Formula E team driver Dan Ticktum. The 23-year-old Brit features heavily in the series and Episode 4 looks at Dan as one of three rookies in Season 8 - a driver who joined the series following an early career in F1's junior categories that resulted in a year-long ban from racing after some ill-disciplined incidents.

This earned Dan a reputation on-track but he believes he has matured in his first year in Formula E though he remains confidently outspoken and fiercely competitive.

“My character often gets misunderstood, and I’ve definitely been painted as a villain previously," said Ticktum. "I opened up as a person a bit more this series and I think it is important for drivers and sportspeople in general to be themselves and authentically show who they really are.

“Formula E Unplugged presents a realistic picture of life inside the paddock and helps fans to understand more about what makes us tick and where we are coming from. I can be pretty fiery, but I think the ‘behind the scenes’ nature of Unplugged will show that sometimes there is a lot more to what drivers are going through than can be seen during races or on social media.”

Back for GEN3

Unplugged doesn't stop with Season 8. The cameras have been behind-the-scenes every step of the way throughout this first full season of the groundbreaking GEN3 era. Take a look.
