FREE PRACTICE 1: Lotterer leads the way in Mexico City

FREE PRACTICE 1: Lotterer leads the way in Mexico City

Andre Lotterer (TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team) set the pace in Free Practice 1 at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, with a 1m07.509s enough to fire two tenths of-a-second clear of Nissan e.dams' Sebastien Buemi and his Porsche teammate Pascal Wehrlein.

Twenty of the 22 drivers were within a second on the timesheets, with Lotterer's benchmark set inside the final five minutes of the session. He and Wehrlein had set the early pace, and as the circuit continued to clean and come to the drivers, the pair remained up top.

WAYS TO WATCH: Where and how to watch every minute of Season 8

Buemi's late lap split the Stuttgart team on the timing screens, with Envision Racing's Robin Frijns wrestling lucha libre style through the stadium section and around the Peraltada to go fourth fastest.

Antonio Felix da Costa was one of four drivers to skate straight on into Turn 1, with the field aiming to maximise their braking and regen points. The Season 6 champ went fifth quickest, with Maximilian Guenther making it two Nissans in the top six.
