Who to watch out for in Berlin...
The first Formula E grand slam was claimed by Daniel Abt with a perfect home win back in 2018. It was another two years until the next time a driver was so authoritative in an E-Prix when Antonio Felix da Costa reopened racing in 2020 after the pandemic with clean sweep, taking a full points haul after topping all the sessions from qualifying, he then scooped up the TAG Heuer Fastest Lap on the way to a commanding victory.
Cementing his position at the top, the DS TECHEETAH driver followed this up another win on the bounce the following day. With two for da Costa and another from Jean-Eric Vergne in 2020, the black and gold squad have stepped up to the top step in Berlin the most of any team.
While da Costa has been unable to recapture his podium finishing prowess of the past two seasons, Vergne is maintaining a points-scoring run of form - which feels like it can go either way in Berlin. The Frenchman has been frustratingly close and without a win since Rome in 2021, can he make it back to the top step in Tempelhof?
Since doubling up in Rome, Mitch Evans has been reinvigorated and truly kicked off his title charge. The Jaguar TCS Racing driver was nowhere in the standings and after hat-trick of podium finishes with second last time out in Monaco the New Zealander could be a popular choice for Berlin.

Last season his title challenge came to an abrupt end when a technical fault left his Jaguar I-TYPE 5 stranded on the start line and Edoardo Mortara was left with no place to go but into the back of Evans.
Evans can take some positives away from last season's Berlin doubleheader, in the opening race he worked his way up from seventh on the grid to finish in third - his fifth of Season 7. The Kiwi is on a hot streak right now, which can be epitomised by his pole lap in Monaco, he was exuding confidence as he railed around the Monegasque streets.
Could Nissan e.dams be turning a corner ahead of Berlin? Both Sebastien Buemi and Maximilian Guenther were looking much better in Monaco. The Swiss former champion showed off top six pace in practice, and despite missing out in qualifying and starting from the back of the grid he made 14 passes around the tight and winding streets to go from last to finish eighth.

It's been a challenging start to Guenther's time at Nissan, the German clearly still bedding in with the Franco-Japanese outfit. But Monaco looked like a strong showing for him, he narrowly avoided out on the Duels and was running well in the points before falling prey to energy management in the closing stages of the race.
Buemi and Guenther have both had success in Tempelhof, the German taking a victory at home back in 2020 and Buemi is one of only two drivers to be a repeat winner in Berlin.
Stoffel Vandoorne has been quietly plugging away this season, like JEV the Belgian has been racking up points finishes in 2022 and picked up a huge 25-points in Monaco to take himself and Mercedes-EQ to the top of the Driver and Teams' standings.
This is a great boon for the squad to carry that positive momentum as they had towards home territory for the famous German marque - it's also home to the first-ever Formula E victory for both Vandoorne and Mercedes, so they know that they can win on the challenging concrete apron of the disused airport.
