FP2 REPORT: de Vries heads up Mahindra 1-2 in Monaco

Nyck de Vries topped both Free Practice sessions in Monaco this morning, as we prepare for qualifying at 10:40 local time.

Mahindra Racing looked rapid in Monte Carlo, with the drivers finishing first and second in the final free practice ahead of qualifying later this morning. Nyck de Vries was quickest once again, with Edoardo Mortara 0.160s off his teammate in second.

Mitch Evans was third for Jaguar TCS Racing, followed by Maximilian Guenther fourth for DS PENSKE and Jake Dennis fifth for Andretti.

Not much time had passed in the session before the session was brought to a halt, after contact between Zane Maloney’s Lola Yamaha ABT and a barrier at the top of Beau Rivage. He reported a loss of brakes, but was able to get out of the car and get back to his garage to watch the rest of the session.

Red flags meant the already short session was even less time, with it being vital that teams and drivers got their set-ups done perfectly.

There was also a close moment for the DS PENSKE of Taylor Barnard, who had a huge snap of oversteer coming out of the tunnel and made light contact with the barriers but it was enough to distort his steering wheel.
