This weekend at the 2026 Monaco E-Prix double-header, CUPRA KIRO will compete with a special-edition livery, marking the release of the brand new Amazon MGM Studios film 'Masters of the Universe'.
PREVIEW: Monte-Carlo brings the magic for Rounds 9 and 10 of Season 12
Among other big names, (such as Nicholas Galitzine and Jared Leto), the film stars CUPRA KIRO Co-owner, Idris Elba, who plays the character of Duncan/Man-at-Arms.
As part of the activation, the CUPRA KIRO team will also provide fans with exclusive digital content inspired by the world of Eternia and Masters of the Universe, bringing their followers behind-the-scenes of the collaboration.
Jon Wilde, Commercial Director, CUPRA KIRO, said: “Since we joined Formula E as a team last season, our approach to racing has been to step beyond the boundaries of motorsport, and instead, directly embedding ourselves into new, exciting, and emerging cultural spaces. Working with Amazon MGM Studios to support the upcoming release of Masters of the Universe is a perfect example of that ambition in action.
"Following our recent collaborations, expanding our commercial portfolio with Amazon MGM Studios continues to redefine just what’s possible in Formula E from a collaboration perspective. As a legendary media franchise with such global recognition, we’re incredibly excited to bring this activation to life at the Monaco E-Prix and connect with new audiences, whether it’s life-long fans of Masters of the Universe, or a new generation who are experiencing Eternia for the first time as part of this revival. From the special-edition livery to our social media takeover, this partnership is designed to create genuine cultural impact.
"Having Idris [Elba] featured directly on the side of the car as part of the livery makes the activation even more unique and, as far as we’re aware, marks the first time in motorsport that a team Co-Owner has appeared on a race car in this way.”
