Jaguar TCS Racing’s Antonio Felix da Costa was best of the rest in the second free practice session in Berlin, with Formula E’s most recent race winner looking competitive around the Tempelhof Airport Street Circuit.
He was joined by Jean-Eric Vergne (Citroën Racing) in second, with Andretti’s Felipe Drugovich in third – with this being the circuit the Brazilian made his debut at last year. Taylor Barnard was fourth for DS PENSKE, having topped yesterday’s FP1 session, with his teammate Maximilian Guenther fifth.
As it happened...
Track temperatures were already high this morning, as the cars left their garages at 09:30 this morning. It’s hot and sunny here in Berlin, with temperatures only set to rise across today and tomorrow.
15 minutes into the session, Buemi was quickest with 57.931s, but it didn’t take long for other 350kwh laps to come through.
By the time the session came to a close it was Da Costa who was top, with the Season 6 champion having won the last two races in Jeddah and Madrid. Can he make it three in a row at the same circuit the team won both events at last season?
JEV also looked quick for Citroën, but his teammate Nick Cassidy had a close call at the end of the session with a slow Jaguar car causing some serious impeding.
