The Jaguar TCS Racing driver began the season on a high, clinching an emphatic victory in São Paulo.
It was a reminder of the form that saw him push reigning champion Pascal Wehrlein to the limit last year. But since that early triumph, his campaign has unraveled. With no further championship points and a string of frustrating results, Evans is left searching for answers and, more importantly, momentum.

"It's been a challenging year after Sao Paolo," said Evans. "I thought this could be for me finally, but it's just gone in other direction and not the performance that we were expecting.
"We’re just trying our best, we’re trying to find the optimal window for this new car and for these tyres. We’re going to keep trying this weekend, I got a big grid penalty for Saturday so I’m focusing more on Sunday."
As the championship returns to Shanghai this weekend, Evans sees a glimmer of hope. It’s a venue that holds fond memories, where he delivered a strategic masterclass to take the win, followed by a solid fifth-place finish the following round. A performance like that is exactly what he and Jaguar desperately need to replicate.

He continued, "We’ve got a bit of work to do, and also reliability’s been a little bit of a concern. We have so many smart, hard-working people on the team who are trying to get us out of this little hole that we’re in. Hopefully, we can turn the page soon."
"It’s a very tight championship. It’s been great to see a bit of a mix-up and to see the CUPRA KIRO’s and Lola ABT Yamaha’s in the last round, it’s possible to recover and turn things around.
"We haven’t quite found it yet, but we’re working tirelessly and it’s every weekend we feel like we keep on getting knocked down but we’re still coming back and trying to find a form that we’re used to, and hopefully this weekend we can turn things around."
As the championship enters its final stretch, the window for redemption is narrowing, but it's not yet closed. With Shanghai marking a return to winning ground, Evans is determined to prove he - and Jaguar - are still very much alive and in the fight.
