Jean-Eric Vergne: 'I know everyone's weaknesses'

And We Go Green is making its network premiere around the globe right now, and the full feature-length movie will be heading to Formula E's YouTube channel on Friday 12 June...

Hollywood names

The documentary on the rise of Formula E and its positive impact in combating global warming and air pollution was co-directed by Tiger King producer and Academy Award winner Fisher Stevens and Malcolm Venville (44 Inch Chest).

Leonardo DiCaprio both produced and appears in the film, which premiered at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival and reunited DiCaprio with Stevens after the pair previously worked together on climate change documentary Before the Flood.

And We Go Green chronicles how Formula E has become the world’s fastest-growing motorsport and provides a behind-the-scenes look at the championship’s fourth season with candid interviews and suspenseful race footage.

The film follows five drivers- champion Jean-Eric Vergne, Sam Bird, Lucas di Grassi, Andre Lotterer and ex-Formula E driver Nelson Piquet Jr - as they race for victory across 10 major cities to contest the 2017/18 season.

The Founder's thoughts

Formula E Founder & Chairman Alejandro Agag, who also appears in the film, said: “The documentary encapsulates the true mission and purpose of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship, to show how competition drives technological development and how the excitement of sport can have a meaningful social impact and alter perceptions of electric vehicles.

“This notion is how the title And We Go Green came about. Not only does it signal the start of our races, but it also indicates an urgent need to put the brakes on devastating and irreparable damage already caused by fossil fuels.

"I’m proud to have worked with such great talent and a production team who share the same common values around sustainability and making a positive impact in the fight against climate change.”
