Home race hero Vergne on Pole in Paris

With both the track and the competition starting to heat up here at the 2018 Qatar Airways Paris E-Prix, it's was home race hero Jean-Eric Vergne who will start the race on Pole here in Paris after a stunning performance in the Super Pole shootout.

With drivers wrestling the cars around the 1.92-km track, after a chaotic couple of Free Practice sessions, which saw Nelson Piquet Jr. crash both of his cars - one in each session - the Paris circuit proved to be one of the most challenging yet.

Having sustained so much damage in the practice sessions, Piquet Jr's team failed to get the car running for Qualifying, meaning the Jaguar driver will start at the back of the grid with teammate Mitch Evans, who picked up a 10-place grid penalty yesterday for a gearbox swap. The Jaguar team are up against it here in Paris.

With both Techeetah's drivers - Jean-Eric Vergne and Andre Lotterer through to Super Pole, Lotterer will start the race in third while his teammate and championship leader will head up the pack.

Starting in second will be DS Virgin Racing's Sam Bird, still fresh from his victory on the streets of Rome, followed by Lotterer in third, Venturi Formula E's Maro Engel in fourth and MS&AD Andretti Formula E's Antonio Felix da Costa in fifth.

Full provisional Qualifying results can be found here.
