Da Costa and DS Techeetah winning streak opens up lead in the standings

Antonio Felix da Costa and DS Techeetah have proven to be a dominant pair in Berlin, storming to two commanding victories. After the Rounds 6 and 7, we chart the movers and shakers in the championship standings.

When Antonio Felix da Costa crossed the line at the end of Round 7, the Portuguese driver strengthened his grip on the 2019/20 ABB FIA Formula E title. After two masterful displays in the first Berlin double-header, his lead had increased to a huge 68 points.

Behind da Costa, the leaderboard chopped and changed with new contenders coming to the fore. Lucas di Grassi (Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler) climbed up the table, following a robust drive from the experienced Formula E champion to finish second in Round 7.

Working his way up the order, to draw level with the Brazilian on 57 points, was Mercedes-Benz EQ's Stoffel Vandoorne. The Belgian, in much the same way as his bold move around the outside of Sam Bird and Oliver Rowland into the hairpin, leapfrogged into the top three.

TALKING POINTS: What we've learned so far, and what to expect in Rounds 8 & 9

It was a tough double-header for the early championship hopefuls. Mitch Evans (Panasonic Jaguar Racing) and Maximilian Guenther (BMW i Andretti Motorsport) came away from the midweek races with no points and slipped down the points table.

Defending two-time champion Jean-Eric Vergne has struggled so far, with his new DS Techeetah team-mate firmly in the limelight. After a slow start to his title defence, the Frenchman is now looking at a 93-point deficit to da Costa.

Envision Virgin Racing experienced a resurgence in the first two races in Berlin. After a desperate run of form since taking to the top step in the opening round in Diriyah, Sam Bird and Robin Frijns gave the British squad some progress with the second-highest team points haul in Berlin.

Thanks to da Costa, DS Techeetah are storming away from the field at the head of the Teams' standings. Despite their troubles, BMW is still holding firm in second but has Nissan e.dams looming after solid points-scoring finishes from Oliver Rowland and via a Sebastien Buemi podium.
