DS Automobiles hosted a three-day event at the Autodromo Riccardo Paletti for journalists and media, giving them the opportunity to sample the DS E-TENSE FE23 GEN3 car in its new Season 10 colours.
The guests were given an intro to the world's most advanced electric race car over several laps with the team's Chief Technical Officer Nicholas Mauduit and its race engineers on hand to offer guidance.
Formula E boss Jeff Dodds was then invited to jump into the cockpit and get a first-hand experience for himself.
"At last, my 14-year-old son has acknowledged I have a cool job!" he said. "What a privilege it was today to spend some solo track time in the GEN3 car.
"Having now driven it, my respect for all of those involved in designing, building and racing the car couldn’t be any greater. To think that this car produces this performance with zero emissions and that we are only going to get faster, and increase its range going forward, is quite incredible."
Testing proper gets underway at the end of this month with tickets now available, alongside media accreditation.
All 22 drivers on the grid will hit the race track for the first time together in Season 10 when we head to Valencia at Circuit Ricardo Tormo and the official pre-season test.
Stoffel Vandoorne and Jean-Eric Vergne return for the forthcoming campaign and are hoping to kick up a gear as GEN3 enters its second season.
