BBC StoryWorks' Change. Accelerated. series launches, illuminating Formula E's electrifying untold stories

Stories from Season 7 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship have been brought to life in a new online series produced for Formula E by BBC StoryWorks.

The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship brings intense and dramatic all-electric racing to the heart of iconic cities around the world. The new online film series, Change. Accelerated., has captured stories of sustainability, technology and community throughout Season 7 of the Formula E race calendar, using the voices of Formula E fans from around the world.

From the deserts of Diriyah to a vineyard on the outskirts of Rome, the Change. Accelerated. series tells the human stories of Formula E fans from all corners of the world and showcases the state-of-the-art innovation powering one of the most exciting sports in the world right now.

A dedicated online hub is showcasing the first four episodes of a 12-part series exploring this world-class racing series for viewers outside of the UK and China.

The first four episodes travel through Diriyah, Rome, Valencia and Monaco, exploring the sound of Formula E, the origins of its battery innovation, and the stories of aspiring young racing drivers and Formula E Team Principals. The remaining eight episodes will join the online hub throughout Autumn 2021.

Sean O’Hara, Executive Vice President of Advertising for BBC Global News, said: "We’ve been on a fascinating journey with Formula E, going beyond the racetrack to find the stories of the people inspiring a new generation of motorsport fans.

"From finding out how Venturi Team Principal Susie Wolff’s formative years shaped her career, to exploring the connection between Formula E, fishing and sustainable art in New York, and meeting the many and varied fans across the globe - we’ve sought to showcase the diversity and purpose of the sport, which is as committed to spectacular racing, as it is to creating real environmental change."
