The Formula E drivers competing at the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans

It’s one of the biggest weekends on the motorsport calendar, and our talented field of Formula E drivers are getting in on the action.

The Formula E drivers competing at the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans

Formula E drivers taking part

Every year, several drivers in our Formula E paddock supplement their racing programme with a parallel campaign in the FIA World Endurance Championship - the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the crowning jewel in the calendar.

This year, six drivers on the 2025/26 Formula E grid will fight for glory at the immortal Circuit de la Sarthe.

Sebastien Buemi is not only one of the most experienced drivers in Formula E, having accumulated 14 wins, 36 podiums and one championship title, the Swiss driver is also an endurance racing Titan.

With Toyota, Buemi has won a record-breaking four FIA WEC titles (alongside former Formula E driver Brendon Hartley) and has tasted Le Mans victory on four occasions - most recently in 2022.

Another Formula E driver who will be competing with Toyota for the 94th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans is Mahindra Racing’s Nyck de Vries. The Dutch racer lines up in the #7, and is yet to win the historic race, despite coming close in 2024. Could this be his year?

2019/20 Formula E champion Antonio Felix da Costa teams up with Alpine for this years’ race, his first with the French manufacturer. Da Costa stood on the top step of the podium in 2022, after claiming victory in the LMP2 class, but will make his Le Mans Hypercar debut this weekend.

In the #12 Cadillac Hertz Team Jota, Norman Nato makes his ninth Le Mans start. Joined by former Formula E driver Alex Lynn, the squad have had a difficult time so far this season with only two points on the board heading into Le Mans.

Compared to the other Formula E drivers in this list, Nick Cassidy can be considered a relative Le Mans newcomer, making only his second appearance. Having last raced in the 2022 edition of the race, Cassidy returns this year behind the wheel of the #93 Peugeot.

Representing the all-electric championship in the LMP2 category, Nico Muller joins Inter Europol Competition. Although not completing a full endurance racing programme this season, Muller joins a host of drivers who head to Le Mans for a one-off appearance at one of the world’s most prestigious races.

Past Formula E drivers taking part

It’s not just current drivers taking part in the race this year, a whole host of talent from Formula E’s history will pilot cars on the Le Mans grid.

Previous winners Andre Lotterer and Antonio Giovinazzi are back in action, and will be looking to add another Le Mans win to their tally with their respective teams. Joining them on the grid are current FIA WEC championship leaders (and former Formula E drivers), Robin Frijns and Rene Rast, who enter the race off the back of victory at the 6 Hours of Spa.

Former Maserati and NEOM McLaren Formula E driver, Jake Hughes also joins the field behind the wheel of the #25 Algarve Pro Racing machine. The Brit is currently the reserve driver for Mahindra Racing. Stoffel Vandoorne (2021/22 Formula E champion and current reserve driver for Jaguar TCS Racing) enters the race with Peugeot, partnering Nick Cassidy.

Honourable mentions

Every season, Formula E’s rookie tests provide an opportunity for talented drivers from across various motorsport disciplines to come and experience the championships’ all-electric machinery for themselves.

Among these, Citroën Racing’s GEN4 development driver, Doriane Pin, steps up to compete in Duqueine’s LMP2 entry whilst Citroën rookie test driver, Theo Pourchaire, makes his Le Mans Hypercar debut with Peugeot.

Other former rookies include Ayhancan Güven and Victor Martins.

We wish all those taking part the very best of luck!
