Driving the industry forwards
Formula E is the world's leading electric motorsport series, integrating top-tier racing with an unwavering commitment to sustainability and pioneering EV technology - all while racing across the most iconic urban landscapes on the planet.
Now in its 10th season, the FIA World Championship has grown to a fanbase of some 344 million people, and is at the forefront of raising awareness of EVs' capabilities, paving the way for automotive innovation and cleaner air.

The championship provides an Apollo program-like platform and proving ground for automotive giants to push the boundaries of what is possible with EVs - accelerating development and bringing about technology transfer from race track to road.
Formula E is also a leader in environmental and social responsibility, through alignment to key principles, targets and certifications on climate and clean air from the likes of the UN, FIA and EU as well as initiatives such as Formula E FIA Girls on Track, aimed at encouraging young women into motorsport.
Electric racing revolution
The series' latest era, which started with the 2022/23 season, welcomed the GEN3 - the world's fastest and most sustainable electric race car ever. Compared to the car that started it all back in 2014, EV tech has come on leaps and bounds, with Formula E pushing that innovation at pace.
The GEN3 is 75 percent more powerful, 60mph faster and has six times the energy regeneration capability of the GEN1. Back in the inaugural 2014/15 season, battery technology meant that two GEN1 cars were required to finish a race per driver, with a swap at the half way stage. Now, GEN3 goes the distance - all while being faster, lighter, smaller, more efficient and more sustainable.

On-track, in the nine full seasons we've seen to-date, Formula E has produced eight different champions from fields full of world class racing talent. The sporting competition is unrivalled, and every campaign has seen the title fight go right to the wire at the very last event of the season.

With the support of the FIA, the World Championship has always beeen a pioneer - breaking from traditional sporting norms and producing new approaches to sporting formats, fan engagement, entertainment and technology.

The series' expansion into untapped regions like India and global leaders at the forefront of EV development such as China and South Korea - as well as across traditional key markets in Europe and the US - serves to illustrate Formula E's global impact, with more than 30 regions hosting races across the decade.
