It all came down to the final day of the season in both the Drivers' and Teams' championships, with Antonio Felix da Costa and Mitch Evans playing the team game to perfection to give Jaguar TCS Racing their second Formula E Teams' title.

Heading into race day, the British-based squad led the way in the standings, with Porsche needing to outscore their rivals in order to clinch the silverware - having already beaten Jaguar in the hunt for the Manufacturers' World Championship in Tokyo.

In a frantic title-deciding race, both teams experienced dramatic highs and lows with da Costa doing his bit via an impressive defensive performance, holding off a charging Pascal Wehrlein for a large portion of the E-Prix. The Portuguese driver eventually crossed the chequered flag in 15th, but his relentless defensive strategy helped his teammate pick up the critical championship points.

"Antonio, from the minute he got into the team, has been just incredibly collaborative," said Jaguar TCS Racing Team Principal Ian James. "What we saw from him today was, again, a strategy that was executed perfectly, some really, really good driving, some really hard but fair driving, and that's helped to deliver the championship as well.

"As we know, over the past few races, they haven't always gone our way. I don't know if I should believe in the racing gods. I'm very much a somebody that says that you make your own luck, but if I look back over this season, we've definitely been on the wrong side of the lucky penny from time to time. But I think at the end of the day, that doesn't take anything away from what both drivers have achieved, and we as a team will be eternally grateful for that."

For Evans, it was a bittersweet day, in his last race for Jaguar, he finished the day in 4th - having qualified in 5th - which was not enough for him to clinch his first Formula E Drivers' Championship, but did enable Jaguar to extend their lead in the standings to a comfortable 17 points.

"Obviously I knew this day was going to come at some point," said the Kiwi. "This team's given me so much, and I'm forever grateful for that. They've given me my first professional contract in the sport, and I owe so much to them and everyone that's been involved in the project since day one.

"I'm very proud of what we've achieved. Obviously wanted more, we had one last box to check, and we unfortunately haven't done that, but a lot to be proud of, and yeah, it's going to be weird waking up tomorrow not as a Jaguar driver for the first time. But, you know, I just wish them the best for the future, and yeah, on my side, exciting times ahead for my next adventure."
