Mahindra Racing have confirmed that Edoardo Mortara and Nyck de Vries will continue to drive for the team in the upcoming 2026/27 FIA Formula E World Championship season.
Having joined Mahindra Racing in 2023, both Mortara and de Vries have been a huge part of the recent upwards trajectory of the team – helping the Indian automotive manufacturer achieve third in the Teams' World Championship last season.
Both have recorded excellent results for the team across that time period, and last season the duo secured two victories, seven podiums and five pole positions. Their efforts also resulted in 252 points and equalled the team’s best-ever finish in the standings.
With de Vries being crowned World Champion at the end of the GEN2 era, and Mortara having raced in every generation of Formula E now he's confirmed for the upcoming season, Mahindra delivers one of the most experienced and formidable pairings on the 2026/27 grid.
Nyck de Vries on his Formula E future
After his two wins last season in Monaco and Tokyo, the 31-year-old has been enjoying success in both Formula E in addition to victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans earlier this year.
“The past three years with Mahindra Racing have been a very rewarding journey,” the 2020/21 World Champion stated. “We’ve made a lot of progress together, and finishing third in the Teams’ Championship last season was a great reward for all the hard work everyone across the team has put in. I’m very proud of what we’ve achieved together and the direction we’ve been moving in.
“I’m very happy to continue with Mahindra Racing as we enter the GEN4 era. It represents a completely new challenge for everyone in Formula E, with a lot to learn and discover. I’m excited to take that on with the team and see where this next chapter takes us.”
A decade of Formula E for Edoardo Mortara
Making his debut at the 2017 Hong Kong E-Prix, Edoardo Mortara’s commitment to Mahindra and Formula E means this will be his 10th season in the all-electric championship for the six-time E-Prix winner.
“I’m really happy to continue with the team,” Mortara commented. “Our collaboration over the past three seasons has been very positive, with results steadily improving along the way. Together, we’ve lifted our performance at every level, and I’m proud of what we’ve built. Entering my tenth Formula E season, we know the year ahead will be a real challenge, especially on the technical side, with so much that is new. I’m curious and excited to take on that challenge with the team as we move to the new GEN4 cars.”

Mahindra become the latest team to lock in and announce their drivers for the 2026/27 – the first of the GEN4 era – with several other outfits confirming their pairings as the weeks until pre-season testing at Madrid count down.
