Goodwood Festival of Speed - Simulator Competition

  1. Introduction 

This Privacy Notice is valid for Championship Season 2025/2026 (“Season 12” or the “Season”) of the  ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Each Championship Season is comprised of a series of rounds  featuring an E-Prix in various locations throughout the world, each an “Event” and collectively the  “Events.” 

Formula E Operations Ltd, with its registered office at 3 Shortlands, 9th Floor, Hammersmith, London W6  8DA (hereinafter, “Formula E”), serves as the Data Controller for all personal data processed in  connection with the "Goodwood Festival of Speed Simulator " competition. . Any inquiries can be  directed to [email protected].  

PLEASE READ THIS INFORMATION CAREFULLY to understand how and why your personal data  will be used and managed by Formula E. We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. 

  1. What Information Will We Collect and Why? 

We will be processing the following type of information: 

  • First Name and Last Name: To identify each participant and grant access to the competition. Email Address: To validate access to the competition; to contact the provisional winner; and,  where they choose to opt-in, to provide additional Formula E content and marketing updates. Mobile Number: To contact the provisional winner. 

  • Age: To verify eligibility according to the Competition Terms & Conditions. 

The above data is collected to: 

  1. Administrate the competition. 

  2. Keep participants informed of the latest Formula E developments, offers and opportunities where  they have opted-in to receive such communications. 

  3. What is the Legal Basis for Processing This Information? 

There are three (3) bases for processing this information: 

  1. Consent: Participants must expressly opt-in to receive marketing communications. No marketing  contact will be made without prior consent. Consent to marketing is completely separate from, and  not a condition of, competition entry. 

  2. Performance of Contract: To fulfill the request by the user to enter the competition, where the  provision of the personal data set out above is a prerequisite for access and prize fulfilment. c. Legitimate Interests: To ensure the proper functioning, security, and integrity of the competition  platform and to ensure efficient administration and delivery of these activities. 

  3. Who Will the Data Be Shared With?

Formula E will not share the information collected with any third-party entities, unless prior positive  consent has been obtained.  

  1. Localisation and International Transfers 

Personal data may be transferred internationally to countries that provide adequate protection, including  the United Kingdom, or under contractual safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. 

  1. How Long Will We Keep the Data? 

Personal data will be retained only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. 

  • Participants who do not opt-in to receive marketing communications: 

their personal data will be retained strictly for limited post-event audit, prize fulfilment, or  compliance purposes. This data will be securely deleted within one (1) month after the  conclusion of the Competition and will not be used for marketing. 

  • Participants who opt-in to receive marketing communications: 

Their personal data will remain in our marketing database and goodmay be retained on an ongoing  basis to send Formula E communications, unless and until they withdraw consent by  unsubscribing. Once consent is withdrawn, we will securely delete or suppress their data in  accordance with our internal retention policies. 

  1. Correcting and Updating Personal Information 

If your personal information changes, or if you believe the personal data we hold about you is incorrect,  you may ask us to correct or update the information by emailing [email protected].  

  1. Notification of Changes 

We may occasionally modify our Privacy Notice. When this happens, we will notify you via email or by  any other reasonable method of communication.

Depending on where you are located, you may have certain rights under applicable data protection laws,  including the UK GDPR, and other relevant national laws.

  • Right of Access 

You have the right to request confirmation as to whether Formula E processes your personal data  and, if so, to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

  • Right to Rectification (Correction) 

You have the right to request that any inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated personal data be  corrected. 

  • Right to Erasure (“Right to be Forgotten”) 

You may request the deletion of your personal data where there is no lawful basis for us to  continue processing it (e.g., you withdraw consent and we have no other legal basis to keep it). Right to Restrict Processing 

You may ask us to suspend or limit the processing of your personal data in specific circumstances  (e.g., while we verify the accuracy of information you contest). 

  • Right to Object to Processing 

You may object to processing carried out on the basis of our legitimate interests or for direct  marketing. Where you object to marketing, we will immediately stop sending you marketing  communications. 

  • Right to Data Portability 

You may request a copy of your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable  format, and request that we transfer it to another organisation where technically feasible. Right to Withdraw Consent 

Where we rely on your consent for processing (for example, for marketing opt-in), you may  withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing  carried out before consent was withdrawn. 

  • Rights Related to Automated Decision-Making 

You have the right not to be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing where such  decisions produce legal or similarly significant effects.
