Event guide: Welcome to the 2019 GEOX Rome E-Prix

Six rounds in of the 2018/19 season of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship and we've already seen six different drivers take the win from six different teams. As the street racing series storms into Rome for the first race of the voestalpine European races on April 13. Here's all you need to know about Friday 12 and race day (13) in Rome.

EVENT GUIDE: Friday, April 12

All times are local to Rome

12:00 – Allianz E-Village opens

The gates to the Allianz E-Village - Formula E’s fan festival at the heart of the E-Prix - open at 12:00. Home to the drivers' autograph session, food stalls, interactive displays, activities for families and fans of all ages, and the chance to drive the track on our simulators in the Gaming Arena. 

13:00 - E-Race Qualifying, Allianz E-Village, La Nuvola

Watch as all 22 Formula E drivers battle against each other on the simulators in the Gaming Arena. The fastest three go through to race against the three fastest fans in the E-Race Final on Saturday. Could it be you?

14:00 - Jaguar I-Pace E-Trophy Shakedown, Track

Watch Formula E’s official support series, the Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy take to the track for the first time as cars and drivers shakedown the cars ahead of Qualifying.

16:30 - Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy Free Practice, Track

Watch as the Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy cars and drivers take to the track for the first time under timed conditions. 

17:40 - Formula Student Parade, Track

See Formula Student demonstrate their latest cars as they take to the track in a dedicated parade. 

18:00 - E-Parade, Track

Here's your chance to see the track for yourself as hundreds of Romans take to the track riding electric vehicles of all kinds - get involved and register now!

19:00 - Allianz E-Village closes

Head back to the Allianz E-Village the following day for all the action, live entertainment and activities at the heart of the race.  

20:00 - LIVE concert, Podium

Following all the action in the Allianz E-Village, head over to the podium for the live music ahead of race day. 

 

EVENT GUIDE: Saturday, April 13

07:00 – Gates and Allianz E-Village open

The gates to the Allianz E-Village - Formula E’s fan festival at the heart of the E-Prix - open at 07:00. Home to the drivers' autograph session, food stalls, interactive displays, activities for families and fans of all ages, and the chance to drive the track on our simulators in the Gaming Arena. 

07:30 Formula E Practice 1, Track

For those keen on getting in on every minute of racing action, the first free practice session of the day starts at 08:00. This is the first time the drivers will have the chance to drive the track under timed conditions, giving us an insight into how they'll perform during the race. Despite the timings, they don't count towards the race result - it's just a free practice session. Here, the drivers can make use of the full 250kW of the car's power.

8:35 Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy Qualifying, Track

Watch Formula E’s official support series, the Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy take to the track for the first time as cars and drivers attempt to clock the fastest time in Qualifying in a bid to clinch Pole Position ahead of the race.

10:00 Formula E Practice 2 – Track

Yep, you guessed it - this session is exactly the same format as the first Practice only this is the second time the drivers will drive the track under timed conditions. This session is another chance for them to test the set-up of the car and make sure it's perfect for the race. Again, despite the timer running, this session doesn't count towards the race and drivers can make use of all 250kWs.

11:15 Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy Autograph Session, Jaguar Paddock

Here’s your chance to meet the drivers in the Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy. Don’t forget to bring along your merchandise for them to sign.

11:45 Formula E Qualifying & Super Pole, Track

Qualifying determines the starting grid for the race, with the fastest driver lining-up in first place. The session lasts one hour and sees drivers divided into groups, decided by a lottery conducted in advance. Each driver has six minutes to set their best time, with the top-five drivers proceeding to the Super Pole shoot-out (see below).

14:00 Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy (25' + 1 lap), Track

Watch as all the Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy drivers take to the track to clinch the win. The race lasts for 25minutes, after which the drivers have one extra lap to complete before the finish line. Join us to see who wins. Learn more about the Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy.

14:10 - Drivers' Autograph Session, Allianz E-Village

Head over to the Allianz E-Village to meet with the drivers at the Autograph session. From selfies to signing caps, t-shirts and all your Formula E memorabilia.

14:40 - E-Race Final, Gaming Arena 

Here’s your chance to prove yourself against the drivers as the top three fastest fans take on the real Formula E drivers on simulators in the E-Village.

16:00 - 2019 GEOX Rome E-Prix (45' + 1 lap) – Track

No more testing, no more practice - this is it - when the lights go green, it's just 45minutes plus one final lap to the finish line of pure electric racing. 22 cars and drivers but just one winner - but who will it be?

17:00 Podium ceremony - Formula E – Podium

That's it, the cars have crossed the line and the top three drivers will take to the podium. Join in the celebrations.

20:00 Allianz E-Village closes
