DS PENSKE achieves FIA Three-Star Environmental Accreditation

The FIA has awarded DS PENSKE the FIA Three-Star Environmental Accreditation, its highest level of recognition for environmental protection and sustainability

DS PENSKE

The FIA Environmental Accreditation Programme is aimed at helping motorsport teams and mobility stakeholders worldwide to measure and enhance their environmental performance. To achieve accreditation, applicants must demonstrate the existence of variety of environmental standards, transparently document them in detail in an environmental management system and define clear sustainability goals.

By awarding DS PENSKE with that special three-star accolade, the FIA recognizes that the team demonstrates best practice and commitment to seek continual improvement through the implementation of an environmental management system.

“I am very pleased to see that DS PENSKE has earned the FIA Three-Star Environmental Accreditation," said Felipe Calderon, President of the FIA Environment and Sustainability Commission. "The commitment shown by DS PENSKE to achieve greater standards in their sustainability programs and to develop these standards further moving forward is testament to the leading role of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in shaping a more responsible and sustainable motorsport.”

“I am very proud of our team for achieving FIA Three-Star Environmental Accreditation, it is another major milestone and the result of a team effort with the support of DS Automobiles and Stellantis," added Jay Penske, Owner & Team Principal. "We will not stop here, and will continue to strive improvements, while ensuring long-term decisions that positively impact our environment and communities’

Eugenio Franzetti, DS Performance director said: “The choice of competing in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship is a strategic one aimed not only at developing new electric technologies for our cars but also for continued research into greater sustainability within our organisation. That’s why obtaining this accreditation is a source of big satisfaction for us.”

It is a requirement for all teams as part of the 2023 FIA Formula E Sporting Regulations that each competitor must hold as a minimum Three-Star Rating in the FIA Environmental Accreditation. New entrants have an extension to achieve this rating, and 10 of 11 teams on the Season 9 grid have now reached this goal.
