Following its recent launch into one of China's largest mobile games, Game for Peace, the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship has teamed up with Tencent once again.
Starting 21 August, players in China will be able to take the wheel of the title-winning Porsche GEN3 99X Electric, bringing peak electric performance, high-torque acceleration, and energy recovery mechanics to Need for Speed Mobile.
Porsche GEN3 99X Electric in the Hall of Legends
Positioned in the prestigious 'Hall of Legends - Hybrid & Electric Drive' vehicle class, the Porsche GEN3 99X Electric introduces a distinct driving profile specifically calibrated to tackle the high-speed streets of Need for Speed Mobile.
Engineered to replicate the real-world dynamics of Porsche's official Formula E factory contender, the in-game machine boasts several unique handling traits:
- Agile Drift Tuning: Features more agile rear-tail behavior during drifts, allowing drivers to carry higher entry speeds through tight corners and execute sharper turn-ins.
- High Torque Endurance: Delivers a significantly higher base top speed, precision steering response, and automatic nitrous accumulation while cornering.
- ERS Regenerative Braking System: Replicating the 99X Electric’s real-world powertrain management, the Energy Recovery System (ERS) delivers a sustained high-torque launch boost for 2.8 seconds from a standstill. During braking, handbrake turns, and inertia drifts, the system harvests kinetic energy - temporarily lowering top speed - before unleashing the stored power within 2 seconds post-drift for a massive nitrous boost
Exclusive 'Hot Pursuit Mode' capabilities
Beyond standard sprint and circuit battles, driving the Porsche GEN3 99X Electric unlocks dedicated operational perks within Need for Speed Mobile’s high-stakes Hot Pursuit game mode - the classic gameplay format that features intense chases between Street Racers and Pursuit Teams:
- Street Racer Role: Equipping the Porsche 99X Electric expands overall backpack capacity, giving racers the room needed to carry extra tactical supplies during intense escapes.
- Pursuit Team Role: Drivers taking on the enforcement role will completely eliminate the helicopter cooldown timer while operating the vehicle, maintaining continuous aerial surveillance over targets.
How to unlock: 'Hall Treasures' event
The Porsche GEN3 99X Electric officially debuts on August 21 via the limited-time “Hall Treasures” in-game event. The car can be unlocked using Hall Treasure Coupons to draw from the event pool. Coupons can be acquired through several limited-time mechanics, which can be viewed via the Events menu, within Specials.
