It only took another two rounds and da Costa was on the top step of the podium, taking his first Formula E victory at Buenos Aires. He only led one lap, but it was the most important one - the final lap.

On to Round 2, the leafy streets of Santiago and the Parque O'Higgins circuit were the location for da Costa's podium roll. The Portuguese driver may have been denied the win on the final lap, but the momentum was building as he followed it up with another second place finish in Mexico City.

Coming into the final round da Costa was one of seven drivers in line to take the Formula E title. Da Costa finished third in the penultimate round, ending the season with a career best of sixth.

In Season 3, da Costa's best finish came in the opening round with fifth in Hong Kong. It was a long and difficult season, with no further points on the board and his lowest finish in Formula E down in 20th.
