THE GEN4 ERA ARRIVES IN MEXICO

Formula E returns to Mexico bringing an all-new era of electric racing, with the 2027 Mexico City E-Prix marking the arrival of the GEN4 car in Mexico. With 600kW of power available plus active all-wheel drive in every phase of the race, this is the most challenging Formula E car to master, designed for wheel-to-wheel battles and jaw-dropping moments for fans.

The GEN4 is the fastest-accelerating single-seater race car - capable of hitting speeds of 335kph in just 4.4 seconds. Against its predecessor, it averages 10 seconds faster per qualifying lap, and uses up to 150% more downforce. The new cars will put greater demands on drivers and teams while delivering a new level of performance for fans at the track.

Every feature on the GEN4, from active all-wheel drive and active differential to dual aerodynamic configurations and regenerative braking, demonstrates groundbreaking technologies electric cars offer, making this machine more road-relevant for manufacturers and their future vehicle innovation than ever before, and the competitive racing in the world.

The Mexico City E-Prix stands as one of the most iconic races on the Formula E calendar, considered a hallmark in the Championship Season, and is home to one of the most passionate motorsport fan bases in the World. On October 6, Formula E will be arriving in Mexico City to host The Official Press Conference of the 2027 Mexico City E-Prix, with Co-Founder and Chief Championship Officer Alberto Longo joined by other key stakeholders to discuss exciting developments before the GEN4 era arrives in the city in January. The press conference will be followed by a Media Day, kicking off the promotional campaign leading into the 2027 Mexico City E-Prix on January 16, 2027.
