Season 11 will see another returnee on the Formula E calendar. After a season away, we'll be heading back for more jostling in Jakarta. Get set for rising temperatures both in the air and on track as the field get set for more wheel-to-wheel action in the Indonesian capital, with the E-prix due to take place on Saturday 21 June 2025.

Trident back on top

66 years, a record that had stood since Juan Manuel Fangio took Maserati to the top step in 1957. Maximilian Guenther ended that at the 2023 Jakarta E-Prix with a stunning drive. The young German was quickest in all sessions that weekend, third in the race on Saturday, and the victor on Sunday.

GEN3 EVO

Leveraging a roster of innovative technical upgrades, the GEN3 Evo unveiled at H.S.H Prince Albert II’s Private Car Collection will debut in Season 11 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

Developed by specialists from Formula E and the FIA, the latest GEN3 Evo edition marks a significant leap in electric racing technology, with acceleration 0-60mph 30% faster than a current F1 car, and 36% faster than the GEN3 car.

The Jakarta International 2.37km E-prix circuit was inspired by the 'Kuda Lumping' -a flat horse woven from bamboo and decorated with colourfully painted cloth, which is “ridden” as part of a traditional Javanese dance. The movement leaves the dancers in a trance-like state where they often display feats of strength and physical endurance - something the drivers will need when they tackle the circuit.

From it's debut race in Season 8, the track drew praise from drivers, despite the tricky hot and humid conditions. The track kicks off with a long run into a tight opening sector, then to a flowing series of turns and banked corners, leading to a tight complex to round out the lap, with a long run down the fast start/finish straight.

Getting to the Race

The Jakarta E-Prix is held at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC), located around the Ancol coastal area in the northern region. Since its debut in Season 8, the track has been praised by drivers, despite the challenging hot and humid conditions.
