With only four remains remaining in the 2025/26 season, it's crunch time in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, and a weekend with so much at stake needs a venue to match: Tokyo.

And for the first time ever, we're switching on the neon lights, as Tokyo becomes a night race.

Here's the global start times for all the racing action on Saturday 25 & Sunday 26 July.

What time is the 2026 TDK Tokyo E-Prix?

The action in Tokyo kicks off on Friday 24 July, with Free Practice 1 taking place at 19:00 local time.

Heading into Saturday's race day, Free Practice 2 starts the action with a 40 minute session at 13:30, followed soon after by qualifying at 15:40.

Finally, the main event, the 2026 TDK Tokyo E-Prix will begin at 20:05 (local time). The timings for Sunday's E-Prix will follow the same schedule as Saturday, with Free Practice 3 preceding qualifying and the race.

Where is the 2026 TDK Tokyo E-Prix taking place?

Surrounding one of Japan's largest venues, Tokyo Big Sight, this thrilling 18-turn, 2.575km street track pushes drivers to their limits. With three notable straights, intricate cornering sequences, and high-speed turns set against the iconic Tokyo skyline, it promises relentless action from start to finish.

The anti-clockwise circuit has faced some changed since it made its debut on the 2023/24 calendar, to make it a little less bumpy and a better racing experience for drivers. However, now our grid face the biggest difference yet... racing under the lights.

Due to the tight and narrow street circuit, making moves up the grid can prove challenging which makes smart energy management essential. There are some good locations if you fancy a pass, which include into Turn 1 along the start-finish straight in the slipstream.

What has happened so far in the 2025/2026 Formula E season?

Jake Dennis started our season, winning in Brazil by turning his Julius Baer Pole Position into victory for Andretti. Then came Mexico City where Nick Cassidy fought his way from 13th to first and delivered Citroën Racing their first single-seater win just two races into their debut.

Miami International Autodrome saw Jaguar’s Mitch Evans secure his 15th career victory, to place himself top of the all-time wins list in Formula E’s history. Pascal Wehrlein won the first of two races in Jeddah for Porsche, with Antonio Felix da Costa having a taste of victory with his new Jaguar TCS Racing team for the first time.

Da Costa managed back-to-back P1 finishes when Formula E raced at Madrid’s Jarama circuit for the first time, before Nico Müller achieved his maiden victory in Berlin, doing so with a special ‘Pink Pig’ Porsche tribute livery much to the delight of the home crowd. The following day it was Evans who again found himself on the top step of the podium, going from 17th to the win after sublime strategy and skill.

The iconic streets of Monaco witnessed Nyck de Vries end Mahindra Racing's winless streak and sealed their first win of the GEN3 era. Come Sunday, Oliver Rowland managed another Monaco masterclass after winning around the principality the year prior too.

Jake Dennis found himself on the top spot once again, managing another dominant display to bag maximum points over the Sanya race day with pole position and the race victory – 28 points to his tally and moved him to fifth in the standings.

Most recently, Wehrlein was back on the top step of the podium after a dominant win from pole in Shanghai to reignite his championship hopes. The following day, one of Formula E’s most surprising wins unfolded as Lola Yamaha ABT took their first victory at the hands of Lucas di Grassi – who earlier in the season announced his retirement plans – after a set-up gamble paid off and saw him win from the back of the grid.
