Reigning Formula 1 World Champion Lando Norris visited the Formula E paddock on Sunday to watch the 2026 Monaco E-Prix, supporting friend and former FIA Formula 3 teammate, Jake Dennis.

“I grew up with a lot of these guys or I raced with them,” said Lando. “The level of drivers you have here is top – it’s as good as you get. You’re watching a series that has top class athletes, some of the best in the world – it’s something I enjoy watching and being a part of.
“This is the first ever race I’ve been to and I’m excited! There are a lot of guys that I know racing here and the racing’s always good to watch; always chaos, always carnage and always unpredictable – everything you want from racing!”
Sunday’s race didn’t disappoint with thrilling action from the start until the chequered flag. And although Norris wasn’t able to see pal Jake Dennis reach the podium, the Season 9 champion finishing outside the points, Andretti teammate Felipe Drugovich did leave the Principality with silverware.
In what was sure to be a change of pace for the McLaren driver, who is used to driving the Monaco circuit, rather than spectating, Norris also had the opportunity to speak with Formula E CEO Jeff Dodds and check out the championships’ brand new GEN4 car, which will make its racing debut next season.
And even as a Grand Prix winner around the fabled streets of Monaco, there were still things to be learnt from watching Formula E’s action-packed double-header.
“I was planning to do a bit of driving in a Formula E car at some point,” Norris admitted. “I’ve spoken to Jake [Dennis] and a few of the other guys who’ve driven here.
“Not everything correlates between the two [Formula 1 and Formula E] but there are always things you can learn by speaking to and listening to drivers that are at the top of this category.”
