Race Info

After one of the most spectacular season openers took place on Hong Kong's iconic Harbourfront last year, we're back again in the heart of Hong Kong for another round of wheel-to-wheel city street racing on March 10, 2019.

Hong Kong Harbourfront

The 1.860km circuit races around the streets of the Hong Kong's Central Harbourfront, with landmarks such as the International Finance Centre, Hong Kong Observation Wheel and Hong Kong City Hall providing a spectacular backdrop.

Last season's doubleheader saw Envision Virgin Racing's Sam Bird clinch the very first victory of the season, while the Harbourfront had nothing but heartbreak in store for Audi Sport Abt Schaeffler's Daniel Abt, who was disqualified after finishing first in the second round, handing the victory to Mahindra Racing's Felix Rosenqvist. After Audi clinched the teams' championship title last season, will Abt make it count this time? Or will Bird bring it home again?

See all 22 new Gen2 cars in action

While the championship might be only five years old, the technology racing around the circuit is ever-changing. Season 5 will see 22 Gen2 cars racing around the track in anger for the very first time. The Batmobile-esque all-electric racer has double the energy storage capacity of the Gen1 car, meaning it can complete a whole race, so wave goodbye to mid-race car swaps. With 250kW of power, the Gen2 will accelerate from 0-100km/h in 2.8-seconds and go on to a top speed of 280km/h.

Greater speeds, more action on track and with just one car per driver - there's everything to lose.
