The grid got their first taste of Tokyo, as they completed a 20 minute shakedown lap ahead of Free Practice 1 later today.

The shakedown sessions aren't timed, and is just a chance for drivers and teams to familiarise themselves with the new circuit.

It was an important session as track walk this morning was heavily impacted by a torrential downpour, with only a handful of drivers embracing the weather to get a closer look at the 2.585km circuit layout.

Several teams are rocking new liveries including Nissan at their home race with plenty of cherry blossom, TAG Heuer Porsche have embraced an electric pink design with Jaguar TCS Racing proudly displaying that it’s their 100th E-Prix with special stickers.

Nissan’s Oliver Rowland also picked up a €1,300 fine for speeding in the pit lane!
