Formula E marks partnership with UNICEF in #PositivelyCharged Rome grid moment

Ahead of Round 3 of the 2020/21 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in Rome, Formula E co-ordinated the second in its series of #PositivelyCharged grid moments, highlighting its new partnership with UNICEF.

Formula E, like UNICEF, wants to accelerate positive change around the world and the championship is proudly supporting the charity to help children through UNICEF’s Safe and Healthy Environment Fund.

This three-year partnership will see Formula E contribute to improving the wellbeing of three million children worldwide, with a focus on the charity's environment and climate change mitigation and adaptation programmes.

Formula E: #PositivelyCharged

Projects supported by the Fund include initiatives to provide schools with sustainable energy solutions and reduce child exposure to air pollution through increased monitoring and advocacy.

To mark the partnership, ahead of the opening round of the double-header Rome E-Prix weekend in the city’s EUR District, President Jean Todt, President of the FIA, Jamie Reigle, Formula E Chief Executive Officer, Alejandro Agag, Formula E Founder and Chairman, Alberto Longo, Formula E’s Chief Championship Officer and Fred Bertrand, Director of the Formula E and Innovative Sport Activities Department at the FIA were joined by Paolo Rozera, Executive Director UNICEF Italy and Virginia Raggi, Mayor of Rome (Sindica di Roma), as well as representatives from all 12 teams.

#PositivelyCharged

Formula E looks to build positive lasting legacies in our host cities through community engagement and partnerships with local charities – accelerating sustainable human progress through the power of electric racing.

A sport designed for fans of the future and aligned to the FIA’s #PurposeDriven movement, Formula E feels a responsibility to protect this next generation and will use its global platform to raise awareness of UNICEF’s work for children around the world.

Throughout Season 7, the championship will celebrate and reflect on important connections with further #PositivelyCharged moments on the grid ahead of each race event.
