Free Practice 2 for the 2025 Hankook Berlin has been cancelled, after inclement weather disrupted the session. Rain has been falling overnight, and is scheduled to continue across the day, but the decision has been made to cancel the 40 minute practice as a result which was due to start at 09:00 local time.
The clerk of the course was seen on-track but so much standing water meant it wasn’t possible to send the cars out on track before qualifying later this morning.
Drivers have been out around the Tempelhof Airport already this weekend, taking to the unique circuit yesterday afternoon in dry conditions. The session was topped by Pascal Wehrlein for TAG Heuer Porsche, but ended in drama when he clipped the back of his teammate and Antonio Felix da Costa was sent into the wall.
Wehrlein was given a three place grid drop for today’s race, and a penalty point, in a race where his championship rival Oliver Rowland (Nissan) could seal the title.
