Heading into Formula E's penultimate weekend of the 2025/26 season, two drivers enter Saturday's E-Prix with grid penalties to serve.
QUALIFYING HIGHLIGHTS: 2026 TDK Tokyo E-Prix, Round 14
Lola Yamaha ABT's Zane Maloney was awarded a 20-place grid penalty, after the team changed the gearbox on his car before Free Practice 1 - exceeding the limits allowed for the season. This has been converted into a 10-second stop-go penalty that the Barbadian will serve in the opening laps of the race.
Meanwhile, Jean-Eric Vergne serves a three-place grid penalty for impeding Maloney during Group B of qualifying. The Frenchman believed that the Lola driver was on a preparation lap, rather than a 'push lap' which resulted in the impeding incident at Turns 2 and 3.
Vergne now starts the race from tenth on the grid.
