The FIA Formula E Championship, the world’s first fully-electric single-seater racing series, is a founding member of the Sport and Sustainability International (SandSI) Association, a body created to promote the influence the sporting industry can have on society and the environment.
The initiative focuses on three pillars that will; enhance sporting events, influence the sports industry’s supply chain and mobilise fans and athletes to support sustainable communities.
Formula E’s commitment to providing carbon free solutions to its events makes the series a key addition to SandSI and its goals.
Julia Palle, Sustainability Manager at Formula E said: "Formula E is delighted to join forces with Sports and Sustainability International - it's incredible to see a car become an ambassador in the race against global warming. We want others to be able to benefit from the technology we are advancing through the championship and hope this will become a catalyst in encouraging our peers in the sporting industry to start thinking how their influence impacts on society and the environment we live in.”

SandSI’s next institutional meeting will take place in Munich, Germany at the end of February.
